Status of Women - March 7, 2017 - Part 1
Committee members continue their study on the economic security of women in Canada. The committee is examining how to improve women’s economic security and ensure the equal participation of women in the Canadian economy. The first panel is made up of Diana Sarosi (senior policy advisor, Oxfam Canada), Jennifer Howard (executive director, Public Service Alliance of Canada) and Lisa Kelly (director of the women's department, Unifor). MPs then hear from Kate McInturff (senior researcher, Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives), Vicky Smallman (national director, women's and human rights) and Angella MacEwen (senior economist), who are both with the Canadian Labour Congress, and Canada Without Poverty representatives Megan Hooft (deputy director) and Michèle Biss (legal education and outreach coordinator).
