In Committee from the House of Commons
Justice and Human Rights - April 4, 2017
Shelly MacInnis-Wynn, widow of murdered RCMP Constable David Wynn, testifies on a bail reform bill. S-217, known as Wynn's Law, would amend the Criminal Code and compel prosecutors to disclose an accused’s criminal record and any outstanding charges during bail hearings. This was not done in the case of the career criminal who shot Constable Wynn in 2015. Michael Elliott (president of the Alberta Federation of Police Associations) and William Trudell (chair of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers) also testify. (April 4, 2017)
