In Committee from the House of Commons
Public Accounts - October 19, 2017
The committee discusses two reports compiled by the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. Assistant Auditor General Clyde MacLellan presents the results of the special examination of the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation. David Bevan, chairperson of the Corporation's board of directors, and Stan Lazar, interim president, respond to the report. The special examination identified many significant deficiencies in the Corporation. The Crown corporation was established in 1969 to market and trade freshwater fish caught in Western and Northern Canada, as well as the by-products of that fish. MPs then resume consideration of a report on detecting and preventing fraud in the citizenship program. Deputy Citizenship and Immigration Minister Marta Morgan testifies during this segment.
