Public Safety and National Security – February 1, 2018

The committee continues its study of Bill C-59, the government’s legislation for national security reform. Forming the first panel are Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police’s Laurence Rankin (deputy chief constable for the investigation division at the Vancouver Police Department) and Paul Martin (chief of the Durham Regional Police Service).

Forming the second panel are Canadian Bar Association’s Gillian Carter (staff lawyer for legislation and law reform) and Peter Edelmann (member at large for the immigration law section), and St. Thomas University’s Christina Szurlej (endowed chair of the Atlantic Human Rights Centre).
