Main Estimates: Minister Joly Defends Departmental Funding
Canadian Heritage - June 7, 2018: Canadian Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly defends funding requests in the 2018-2019 main estimates allocated to her department and other cultural programs. Appearing alongside the minister is Graham Flack, deputy minister for the Department of Canadian Heritage. Before Minister Joly testifies at committee, MPs study the remuneration models for artists and those working in creative industries. Participating in that study are the Association québécoise de l'industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo’s (ADISQ) Solange Drouin; Artisti’s Sophie Prégent and Annie Morin; Re:Sound Music Licensing Company’s Ian MacKay; as well as the Songwriters Association of Canada’s Greg Johnston and Damhnait Doyle.
