Tariffs: Finance Committee Begins Study of Bill C-101
Finance - June 11, 2019 - Part 2: The committee begins its study of Bill C-101, an act to amend the Customs Tariff and the Canadian International Tribunal Act. The legislation will allow the government to limit a flood of cheap steel into Canada. This bill is in response to a stipulation from Trump administration to lift U.S. tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. Appearing at the committee are the Department of Finance’s Patrick Halley and Michèle Govier, as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development’s John Layton.
