In Committee from the House of Commons - Justice and Human Rights - November 23, 2011

Justice and Human Rights (November 23, 2011)

MPs completed their clause-by-clause review of the government's omnibus crime bill (C-10). The Conservatives had attempted to limit the clause-by-clause review to just one day, but parties reached a compromise to hold two days of hearings.

The proposed legislation contains measures from nine previous bills. The Conservative government intends to pass the Safe Streets and Communities Act within 100 sitting days.
