The Consultation Commission on Accommodation Practices Related to Cultural Differences (the “Bouchard–Taylor Commission”) was established in February 2007 by Quebec Premier Jean Charest. The public consultation program includes a number of public hearings focusing on issues relating to the protection of ethno-cultural minority rights while also respecting the rights of larger demographics within Quebec.

This November 23, 2007, hearing in Sherbrooke, Que., includes briefs and testimonials by Raymond Cyr (Communauté Métisse de l’Estrie et Communauté Métisse de la Gaspésie), Jean Lacharite (Conseil central CSN de l’Estrie), Guillaume Tousignant (Forum jeunesse Estrie), and also from various citizens speaking as individuals.
