Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witness: Mike McDonell, Margaret Bloodworth

Mike McDonell (Assistant Commissioner National Security and Organized Crime Investigations, RCMP) continues to testify under direct examination by Commission Counsel Anil Kapoor. Testimony focuses on Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams (INSETs), National Security Criminal Investigative Sections (NSCISs), the relationship between these units, and their work in counter-terrorism efforts. Mr. Kapoor also asks Mr. McDonnell to comment on the relationship between the RCMP and the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). Jacques Shore (Counsel for the Air India Victims’ Families Association) and Loretta Colton (Counsel for the Attorney General of Canada) cross-examine Mr. McDonell. Mr. Kapoor proceeds with direct examination of Margaret Bloodworth (Privy Council Office). Testimony focuses on intelligence gathering and on the relationship between intelligence and evidence. Jacques Shore (Counsel for the Air India Victims’ Families Association) conducts cross-examination and the Commissioner questions the witness.
