Inquiries on CPAC - The Oliphant Inquiry – April 16, 2009 (Part 2 of 2)

Commission of Inquiry into Certain Allegations Respecting Business and Financial Dealings Between Karlheinz Schreiber and the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney

Witness: Karlheinz Schreiber

Guy Pratte (Counsel for Mr. Mulroney) begins cross-examination of Mr. Schreiber (the former chair of Bear Head Industries), questioning him about statements made during his testimony at the “Eurocopter” trial in September 2004 and in his November 2007 affidavit. Mr. Schreiber is also asked about the relocation of the Bear Head Project, a proposed factory for military vehicles, from Nova Scotia to Montreal in 1992, about his learning of Mr. Mulroney’s cancellation of the project, and about his lawsuit against the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). The hearing is adjourned early after Mr. Schreiber suffers from exhaustion under persistent questioning by Mr. Pratte.
