Inquiries on CPAC - The Oliphant Inquiry – April 17, 2009 (Part 2 of 2)

Commission of Inquiry into Certain Allegations Respecting Business and Financial Dealings Between Karlheinz Schreiber and the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney

Witness: Karlheinz Schreiber

Mr. Schreiber, the former chair of Bear Head Industries, concludes his testimony before the Commission. Under examination by Richard Auger (Counsel for Mr. Schreiber), Mr. Schreiber describes his business arrangement with Mr. Mulroney and a series of cash payments supposedly made in exchange for Mr. Mulroney’s ongoing involvement with the Bear Head Project, a proposed manufacturing plant for military vehicles originally intended to be built in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and later considered for Montreal, Quebec. Mr. Schreiber is also asked about a meeting with Mr. Mulroney at Mirabel Airport in August 2007 and about statements made in a November 2007 affidavit and during his testimony at the “Eurocopter” trial in September 2004.
