Commission of Inquiry into Certain Allegations Respecting Business and Financial Dealings Between Karlheinz Schreiber and the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney

Witnesses: Brian Mulroney, Wayne Adams

Richard Auger (Counsel for Mr. Schreiber) concludes his cross-examination of Mr. Mulroney (a former prime minister of Canada), with questions focusing on the nature of his work for Mr. Schreiber, supposedly involving the marketing of Thyssen military vehicles internationally for peacekeeping missions. The Commissioner asks Mr. Mulroney about the lack of invoices for his supposed work for Mr. Schreiber. The Commission proceeds to hear testimony from Wayne Adams (Director General of Income Tax Rulings, Canada Revenue Agency). Under direct examination by Commission Counsel Giuseppe Battista, Mr. Adams speaks about income tax laws pertaining to the payment of retainers. There are cross-examinations by François Grondin (Counsel for Mr. Mulroney), Richard Auger (Counsel for Mr. Schreiber), and Paul Vickery (on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada).
