Inquiries on CPAC - Commission Charbonneau - Sept 24/12 AM Session

Justice France Charbonneau presides over the commission established by former Quebec premier Jean Charest to examine the awarding and management of public contracts in Quebec's construction industry. Charest announced the inquiry in November 2011 to address allegations of corruption and collusion in the Quebec construction industry and political party financing.

The witness for the morning session on September 24, 2012 was former FBI agent Joseph D. Pistone. Pistone, who is currently living under a different identity, infiltrated the Mafia in the U.S. using the alias "Donnie Brasco." Pistone's undercover operation, which lasted six years, led to the conviction of over 200 middle and upper ranking Mafia members. In this session, Pistone describes the inner workings of the Mafia in New York and how he was able to infiltrate it.
