Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witnesses: I. David Marshall, Yvette Aloïsi, Myra Conway, George A. Butts, Gerry Thom

The Commission continues to hear testimony from a panel of employees of Public Works and Government Services Canada, including I. David Marshall (Deputy Minister), Yvette Aloïsi (Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services, Human Resources and Communications Branch), Myra Conway (Director General, Financial Operations), George A. Butts (Acting Director General for the Acquisitions Policy, Risk, Integrity and Strategic Management Directorate, Acquisitions Branch), and Gerry Thom (Director of Classification, Compensation and Business Systems, Corporate Services, Human Resources and Communications Branch). Richard Dearden (Counsel for the Office of the Auditor General) conducts a brief cross-examination on the subject of the Financial Administration Act. Brian Saunders (on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada) asks the panel about Public Works audits and guidelines for sponsorship activities.
