Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Evelyn Marcoux

Commission Counsel Marie Cossette concludes direct examination of Evelyn Marcoux (former manager, Department of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC)). Ms. Marcoux describes attempts to draft guidelines for sponsorship contracts. She is asked about the existence of a “slush fund” for the sponsorship program controlled by the Prime Minister’s Office and the office of Alfonso Gagliano. There are brief cross-examinations by Pierre Fournier (Counsel for Mr. Gagliano), Richard Auger (Counsel for Charles Guité), and Sylvain Lussier (on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada).
