Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Charles Guité

Commission Counsel Neil Finkelstein continues direct examination of Charles (Chuck) Guité (former Director General of the Advertising and Public Opinion Research Sector (APORS) and Executive Director of the Communication Coordination Services Branch (CCSB) at Public Works and Government Services Canada). Mr. Guité recalls receiving directions from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on the selection of projects for sponsorship. He is also asked about the various sources of requests for sponsorship. Questions about Mr. Guité’s relationships with various advertising executives are withdrawn following objections by Mr. Guité’s counsel.
