Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: François Beaudoin

The Commission hears testimony from François Beaudoin (former President and CEO, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)). Commission Counsel Marie Cossette conducts direct examination. Mr. Beaudoin describes the hiring of Jean Carle on the advice of Jean Pelletier and he speaks about correspondence with television producer Robert-Guy Scully. He denies earlier claims that he personally committed to the BDC’s sponsorship of Mr. Scully’s television series about Maurice Richard.
