Witness: Alfonso Gagliano

Commission Counsel Bernard Roy concludes direct examination of Alfonso Gagliano (former Minister of Public Works and Government Services). Under cross-examination by Richard Auger (Counsel for Charles Guité), Mr. Gagliano is asked about regular meetings with Mr. Guité and others at Mamma Teresa restaurant in Ottawa, about meetings with Pierre Tremblay, and about the awarding of sponsorship funds for 125th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). George Hunter (Counsel for Ranald Quail) cross-examines the witness on submissions to the Treasury Board seeking funds for sponsorship activities, meetings of federal ministers from Quebec, and negotiations to transfer responsibility for sponsorship activities to the Canada Information Office (CIO).
