Witness: Jean Carle

Commission Counsel Bernard Roy concludes his examination of Jean Carle (the former director of operations in the Prime Minister’s Office under Jean Chrétien and former Senior Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)). Mr. Carle is asked about his relationship with Jean Lafleur, about the ordering of promotional items such as golf balls through the Canada Information Office, about government sponsorship of the Montreal Grand Prix, and about Éric Lafleur’s work in the Prime Minister’s Office. He is also questioned about money paid to Robert-Guy Scully’s television production company and reimbursed by the Communication Coordination Services Branch (CCSB). There are short cross-examinations by Sylvain Lussier (on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada) and Guy Pratte (Counsel for Jean Pelletier).
