Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

The Commission continues to hear motions on the subject of temporary publication bans on the testimony of Jean Brault, Paul Coffin, and Charles Guité in light of the three witnesses’ anticipated criminal trials. Mark Bantey (Counsel for Bell Globemedia, the Canadian Press, CanWest News Services, Le Journal de Montréal, La Presse, Société Radio-Canada, and Le Soleil) makes a submission opposing the ban. The Commissioner defers his decision on the motions.
