Witness: Gar Pardy

Marlys Edwardh (Counsel for Mr. Arar) concludes cross-examination of Henry Garfield (Gar) Pardy (former Director General of Consular Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)) with questions focusing on the actions of consular officials during the course of Mr. Arar’s detention in Syria, the sharing of consular information with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), DFAIT’s assistance of the RCMP’s investigation of Mr. Arar, and Mr. Pardy’s own knowledge of Mr. Arar’s mistreatment in Syria.
