Roundtable of Canadian Experts on Review and Oversight

Canadian experts on the oversight of national security agencies speak about review mechanisms for the national security activities of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Discussion focuses on necessary powers and restrictions of review bodies, the makeup of review bodies, means of reporting, and how to balance questions of confidentiality and public accountability. The participants are Warren Allmand (international human rights consultant and former Solicitor General of Canada), Reem Bahdi (Faculty of Law, University of Windsor), Gwen Boniface (Commissioner, Ontario Provincial Police), Alan Borovoy (Counsel, Canadian Civil Liberties Association), Stuart Farson (Political Science, Simon Fraser University), Norman Inkster (former Commissioner, RCMP), Dirk Ryneveld (British Columbia Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner), Wesley Wark (University of Toronto Munk Centre for International Studies).
