Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Odilon Émond

The Commission continues to hear testimony on the use of sponsorship funds for the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Associate Commission Counsel Guy Cournoyer continues direct examination of Odilon Émond (former Assistant Commissioner of “C” Division of the RCMP), questioning him on the involvement of Charles Guité and Jean Lafleur in arranging funding for events and for the purchase of horses and other items. Mr. Émond also speaks about Gosselin Communication’s billing of the sponsorship program for a generator lent to the RCMP during the 1998 ice storm.
