Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

The Commission continues to hear arguments concerning a motion by David W. Scott and Peter Doody (Counsel for Jean Chrétien) calling for the recusal of Commissioner John H. Gomery in light of remarks made in a series of high-profile interviews with the press in December 2004. Submissions in opposition to the motion are made by Richard Dearden (Counsel for the Office of the Auditor General), Arthur L. Hamilton (Counsel for the Conservative Party of Canada), and Katty Duranleau (Counsel for the Bloc Québécois).
