Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Jean Pelletier

The Commission continues to hear testimony from Jean Pelletier (Jean Chrétien’s former chief of staff). Under direct examination by Associate Commission Counsel Guy Cournoyer, Mr. Pelletier speaks about the prime minister’s authorization of use of the so-called Unity Fund to pay for sponsorship activities, about meetings with Charles Guité, and about the role of Jean Carle and the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in recommending events for sponsorship.
