Inquiries on CPAC - The Gomery Inquiry – March 14, 2005 (Part 7 of 7)

Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Gilles-André Gosselin

The Commission continues to hear testimony from Gilles-André Gosselin (the former owner of Gosselin et Associés Communication Stratégique) with Associate Commission Counsel Guy Cournoyer conducting direct examination. Mr. Gosselin describes inaccuracies in his application for government sponsorship contracts and speaks about specific contracts awarded to him by the Department of Public Works and Government Services. He is also asked about sponsorships for projects in the ridings of Alfonso Gagliano and Jean Chrétien paid for out of a fund for “unforeseen events” and about payment for a plaque in San Martino, Italy, being hidden within the sponsorship of Winterlude in Ottawa.
