Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Jean Lafleur

The Commission hears an application for intervenor standing from Daniel Rochefort on behalf of the Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies. Jean Lafleur (the former owner of Jean Lafleur Communication Marketing) continues testimony with Associate Commission Counsel Guy Cournoyer concluding direct examination. Mr. Lafleur is asked about his dealings with Canada Post and about the involvement of Lafleur Communication in the “Encyclopédie du Canada” project. Richard Dearden (Counsel for the Office of the Auditor General) conducts cross-examination of Mr. Lafleur, asking about commissions charged by Mr. Lafleur to transfer money from Public Works to VIA Rail for the sponsorship of a television series produced by Robert Guy Scully.
