Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Jean Brault

The Commission continues to hear testimony from Jean Brault (the former president of Groupaction Marketing). Under direct examination by Commission Counsel Bernard Roy, Mr. Brault is asked to explain documents detailing meetings and correspondence with businesses associates, Liberal Party of Canada officials, and government employees. He describes meetings with Alfonso Gagliano and speaks about Alain Renaud’s role as a liaison for Groupaction with both the Liberal Party of Canada and the Department of Public Works and Government Services. Mr. Brault discusses political donations by Groupaction employees reimbursed by the company and payments to Liberal Party workers channelled through Richard Boudreault. He is also asked about correspondence with Jacques Corriveau and Charles Guité.
