Inquiries on CPAC - The Air India Inquiry – March 7, 2007 (Part 1 of 4)

Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witness: Henry Jensen

The Commission hears testimony from Henry Jensen (a retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer, a former deputy commissioner of operations, and a former member of the Government of Canada’s intelligence and security advisory committees). Under direct examination by Commission Counsel Anil Kapoor, Mr. Jensen speaks about the security operations of the RCMP prior to the creation of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) in 1984. Under cross-examination by Norman Boxall (Counsel for the Air India Victims’ Families Association), Mr. Jensen responds to questions about the need for policing agencies like the RCMP to have access to useful intelligence to prevent crime and about the importance of the timely sharing of information by CSIS.
