Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witnesses: Reg Whitaker, Jacques Bourgault, Chern Heed

Three members of the advisory panel of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) testify about the contents of their report entitled “The CATSA Act Review Advisory Panel Report: Flightplan-Managing the Risks in Aviation Security, Report of the Advisory Panel.” Reg Whitaker (York University) gives an introduction to the panel’s recommendations made following its review of aviation security in Canada. Jacques Bourgault (l’Université du Québec à Montréal) and Chern Heed (an airports consultant) also testify, with direct examination being conducted by Commission Counsel Brian Gover. Raj Anand (Counsel for Lata Pada and other victims’ families) and Sandy Graham (Counsel for the Attorney General of Canada) briefly cross-examine the witnesses.
