Commission Counsel Paul J. J. Cavalluzzo concludes examination of Henry Garfield (Gar) Pardy (former Director General of Consular Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)). Under cross-examination by Marlys Edwardh (Counsel for Mr. Arar), Mr. Pardy discusses the role of public opinion in the handling of Mr. Arar’s case, consular visits to Mr. Arar in Syria, and evidence of the Syrians’ use of torture.
