Witness: Wayne Easter

Former Solicitor General Wayne Easter testifies. Examination is performed by Commission Counsel Paul J. J. Cavalluzzo, who begins by asking about the duties and functions of the Solicitor General, including oversight of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The minister is asked about his briefings on Mr. Arar’s case and about efforts to establish a consensus among Canadian agencies in obtaining the release of Mr. Arar from Syria.
