Witness: Franco Pillarella

Franco Pillarella, the former Canadian Ambassador to Syria, testifies. Under examination by Commission Counsel Paul J. J. Cavalluzzo, Mr. Pillarella speaks about the role of Canadian ambassadors abroad and about the recent political history and political conditions of Syria. In a heated exchange, the ambassador repeatedly denies having any knowledge of human-rights abuses occurring in Syria during his time there.
