The Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar

Witness: Robert Fry

Commission Counsel Marc David continues examination of Robert Fry (former Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs). Mr. Fry describes his role as a liaison between the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAIT) and the minister’s office and the involvement of the minister in Mr. Arar’s case. He is asked about the minister’s knowledge of Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) visits to Syria. Mr. Fry also discusses contact with Monia Mazigh (Mr. Arar’s spouse) and with the Syrian ambassador to Canada.
