Witness: Maureen Girvan

Marlys Edwardh (Counsel for Mr. Arar) continues cross-examination of Maureen Girvan (former manager of the Consular Services Section of the Canadian Consulate General in New York). Ms. Girvan describes the actions of consular officials around the time of Mr. Arar’s detention in New York in September and October 2002. Discussion focuses on Ms. Girvan’s knowledge of Mr. Arar’s nationality and on the threat of deportation to Syria.
