Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Daniel Dezainde

Ernst & Young is given full standing before the Commission following a motion by Peter Griffin (Counsel for Ernst & Young). The Commission continues to hear testimony from Daniel Dezainde (a former director general of the Quebec wing of the Liberal Party of Canada), with Doug Mitchell (Counsel for the Liberal Party of Canada) concluding cross-examination of the witness. During intensive cross-examination by Pierre Fournier (Counsel for Alfonso Gagliano), Mr. Dezainde is asked about the fundraising and accounting practices of the Quebec wing of the Liberal Party of Canada and about his concerns with the fundraising tactics of Giuseppe (Joseph) Morselli and Beryl Wasjman. He recalls his response to threats made by Mr. Morselli.
