Commission of Inquiry into the Investigation of the Bombing of Air India Flight 182

Witness: Warren Sweeney

Warren Sweeney (a former investigator and analyst in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) security service and a former analyst in the RCMP’s counter-terrorism branch) continues his testimony before the Commission. Mr. Sweeney speaks about his work investigating potential threats to Air India in 1985 prior to the bombing of Air India flight 182 and challenges that he encountered. Jacques Shore, Counsel for the Air India Victims’ Families Association, and Charleen Brenzall, Counsel for the Attorney General of Canada, cross-examine Mr. Sweeney. Mr. Brenzall asks Mr. Sweeney about RCMP access to intelligence from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) and cooperation between the RCMP and these agencies. Mr. Kapoor asks some brief follow-up questions.
