The Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar

Witness: Franco Pillarella

Franco Pillarella, the former Canadian Ambassador to Syria, continues testimony. Under examination Commission Counsel Paul J. J. Cavalluzzo, the ambassador is asked about the Canadian embassy’s involvement in other cases of Canadians detained in Syria. He repeatedly denies having any knowledge of human rights abuses occurring in Syria during his time there.
