Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witness: Luc Lemay

Louis Bélanger (Counsel for Luc Lemay and Malcom Media Inc.) presents a motion asking that Mr. Lemay’s financial statements remain confidential despite having been submitted to the Commission as evidence. There are responses to the motion by Associate Commission Counsel Guy Cournoyer and Mark Bantey (Counsel for CanWest News Services, Le Journal de Montréal, La Presse, Société Radio-Canada, and Le Soleil). Mr. Bélanger replies and the Commissioner defers judgement on the motion. Commission Counsel Bernard Roy begins direct examination of Mr. Lemay (the owner of Expour and Groupe Polygone).
