The Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar

Witnesses: Stephen Yale-Loehr, Julia Hall

Stephen Yale-Loehr (Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Law, Cornell University) and Julia Hall (Counsel and Researcher, Human Rights Watch) continue their testimony on the practice of extraordinary rendition and on American law governing Mr. Arar’s deportation to Syria. Simon Fothergill (for the Attorney General of Canada) continues cross-examination on U.S. immigration procedures and on aspects of Mr. Arar’s detention in the United States.
