Witness: Lorne Schwartz

Lorne Schwartz (Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)) continues his testimony before the Commission. Norman Boxall (Counsel for the Air India Victims’ Families Association) cross-examines Mr. Schwartz on the subject of a purported confession by Talwinder Singh Parmar, the possible connection of Lakhbir Singh Brar Rode to the Air India bombing, and RCMP interviews with Mr. Brar. Mr. Schwartz also speaks about challenges inherent in dealing with intelligence, evidence, and information from foreign sources. Charleen Brenzall (Counsel for the Attorney General of Canada) cross-examines Mr. Schwartz. Palbinder Shergill (Counsel for the World Sikh Organization) addresses the Commission, asking about of the possibility of questioning witnesses in light of the intervenor standing granted to the World Sikh Organization at the Commission. A brief procedural discussion ensues. Commission Counsel Anil Kapoor asks Mr. Schwartz some brief follow-up questions. Barney Brucker, Counsel for the Attorney General of Canada, makes a brief submission to the Commission.
