The Commission of Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Maher Arar

Witnesses: Roberta Lloyd, Alexa McDonough

Simon Fothergill (on behalf of the Attorney General of Canada) continues cross-examination of Roberta Lloyd (Project Officer, Canadian Institutes of Health Research) on the subject of remarks allegedly made by Dan Killam (RCMP Director General of National Security) defending Mr. Arar’s deportation. Commission Counsel Veena Verma conducts a brief re-examination. Alexa McDonough (NDP Foreign Affairs Critic and Member of Parliament for Halifax) testifies. Commission Counsel Paul J. J. Cavalluzzo conducts direct examination with questions focusing on Ms. McDonough’s involvement in Mr. Arar’s case beginning in October 2002.
