Inquiries on CPAC - The Gomery Inquiry – October 7, 2004 (Part 3 of 4)

Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities

Witnesses: Jean-Claude Demers, Normand Massé, Jean Quevillon

Commission Counsel Bernard Roy continues direct examination of Jean-Claude Demers, Normand Massé, and Jean Quevillon, former members of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Administrative Review Committee. The witnesses describe their investigation of Public Works employees after a damning 2002 report by forensic accountants from Kroll Lindquist Avey. They are asked about the committee’s interviews with Pierre Tremblay (former chief of staff to Alfonso Gagliano) and give a detailed account of the late Mr. Tremblay’s testimony, including his claim that the Prime Minister’s Office allocated funds to a secret budget for the sponsorship program.
