Justin Trudeau on Govt’s Appeal of First Nations Child Welfare Ruling

In Saint-Anaclet, Quebec, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau speaks with reporters about the federal government’s decision to appeal a ruling from the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal that ordered federal compensation to First Nations children who were taken from their homes and put into the on-reserve child welfare system. The Tribunal ordered the government to pay $40,000 to each child who was denied essential services when they were put into the underfunded welfare system. (October 4, 2019)
