Podium - Jack Granatstein and James Boutilier


Military historian Jack Granatstein presents a speech at the 70th annual Conference of Defence Associations Institute (CDAI) general meeting, Ottawa, Ont., February 15, 2007. Mr. Granatstein speaks about the history of the Canadian Forces from 1932–2007, focusing on downsizing, financial cutbacks, and changing attitudes toward the operational role of Canada’s military. After speaking, Mr. Granatstein answers questions from audience members.

James Boutilier (policy advisor to the Maritime Forces Pacific headquarters in Esquimalt, B.C.) speaks at the 23rd annual CDAI seminar in Ottawa, February 15, 2007. Mr. Boutilier discusses a shift in the global economic and security focus in favour of the Asia-Pacific region. Later, Mr. Boutlier fields questions from seminar attendees.
