Podium - Stephen Lewis

L'École d'été de l'Institut du Nouveau Monde held its fourth edition of a conference that brought together more than 800 youth from across Quebec and around the world, Montreal, August 22–25, 2007. Among the issues discussed were climate change, reasonable accommodations and the place of youth in the world.

Stephen Lewis, the former UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, addressed the conference on August 23rd. In a speech entitled "Where in the World is the World Headed? A panoramic sweep of international affairs, globalization, conflict, poverty and disease,” Lewis spoke about the progress of achieving the U.N. Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
