The 4th Annual Symons Lecture on the State of Confederation took place on November 8th, 2007, at the Confederation Centre for the Arts in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

This year's lecture featured a speech delivered via video by Peter Lougheed, former premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985. P.E.I. Premier Robert Ghiz gave the opening address and John Crosbie, former Progressive-Conservative cabinet minister, made a speech in reply to Mr. Lougheed's address.
