Podium - Lawrence Hill


The University of Ottawa Faculty of Law hosts “Routes to Freedom: Reflections on the Bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade,” Ottawa, Ont., March 14–16, 2008. This conference focuses on the historical realities of the transatlantic slave trade and celebrates the accomplishments of African peoples. It also aims to heighten awareness of current conditions.

On March 15th, author Lawrence Hill gives a keynote address and reads from his novel "The Book of Negroes."
