Podium - Howard Wolpe


Howard Wolpe, the director of the Africa Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., delivers a keynote address at a conference hosted by the Canadian Friends of Somalia, Ottawa, Ont., May 22, 2008. The conference is entitled “Challenges and Opportunities of Nation Building in Somalia.”

Mr. Wolpe discusses major challenges in implementing long-term peace-building strategies within the international community. Former prime minister Joe Clark makes opening remarks and introduces Mr. Wolpe.
