Podium - C. Richard D'Amato


C. Richard D’Amato (the commissioner and former chairman of the United States–China Economic and Security Review Commission) delivers the opening keynote address at a symposium held by the Canadian Coalition for Democracies (CCD), Ottawa, Ont., June 10, 2008. The symposium is entitled "The People’s Republic of China: Foreign Policy Risks and Opportunities."

In his address, entitled "China: The New Imperium," Mr. D’Amato discusses the work carried out by the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission, which was created in October 2000. He also explores the economic relationship between the U.S. and China.
